Stephen founded Scholar Wealth Management in 2010 with one simple premise, to provide investors with unbiased superior service and advice. With over 30yrs experience in the financial services industry, we have come to understand the importance of independence. As an independent advisory firm, Scholar is not pressured by a parent company to direct you into proprietary products and is able to provide clients with unbiased advice. We take a disciplined approach to financial planning and practice sound tenants when managing client's portfolios. Each client’s goals are different, and it is our main focus to help them achieve them.
Upon graduating from Syracuse University’s School of Business Management in 1989, Stephen began his career with Equitable Financial where he modeled retirement, investment, insurance and estate plans for individuals and business owners. During his tenure with Equitable Stephen earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designations. The CFP is the standard of excellence in financial planning. Each CFP must complete rigorous training and are responsible for maintaining the highest ethical standards. CFP's professionals are held to a fiduciary standard. A fiduciary must act in the best interests of someone else and try to avoid any conflicts of interst. Helping families manage their financial future is a tremendous responsibility, one that we take very seriously. Being able to serve our client’s needs on a daily basis leads to better long-term outcomes.
Born and raised in Central Jersey, Stephen and his wife Lori live in Lincroft along with their three daughters.
